What a Day!

Today started off not so well. I woke up a quarter ’till 9am to get ready for class at 10. I had to use the bathroom and I felt so incredibly drowsy. Plus, there was this great feeling of dizziness, and I had a moderate headache to go with it. My alarm was still set and I had already been hitting snooze since 8:10am. I collapsed back in bed, don’t remember hitting the alarm again (it’s on ten minute intervals), and waking up at 9:28am. I was just so out of it – kind of as if you have a fever, and you feel really delusional with no real sense of time. I decided it was best to miss class and get my ten hours of sleep. So, I thought my day was deemed to be bad. In slight, it was for a while. After waking up again at some time in the 11am hour, my roommate, neighbor, and I went down to the dining center for lunch. I wasn’t really hungry in the first place, and from there I still consumed food – perhaps too heavy of items. Within minutes of returning to the dorm, I felt clammy and nauseous. It got so bad that at one point I actually considered that the only way to find peace from this aweful discomfort was to purge these food items… Definitely a terrible start to the day.

Fortunately, it all went away, and the only problem I was left with was the war on allergies. This afternoon was OSU’s Battle of the Bands, where various groups of student musicians gather in the Memorial Union Quad to perform. It was entertaining. We had come back to the dorms to take a rest and get some dinner, but we later returned in the evening. The weather was so great today – despite the horrific allergies (Corvallis is considered one of the worst cities for allergies). There were substantially more people in the evening – it became like a giant social gathering. Moreover, it seemed like a handy place for people to meet up with their friends before heading out for a thirsty night.

Overall, it sure seemed like a long day. There are now less than two weeks until the big move-out. I will probably miss several aspects of this place called Bloss, but I am definitely looking forward to a nice, long summer with friends, a new(er) job position, and an off-campus living experience next year.
