Bad news bears just came knock’in at my door… well… my web browser (Chrome for all you nerds). My favorite online community called Oregon Media Insiders has shut its doors permanently until someone, if anyone, will take it over. I’m not that involved with Oregon media currently, but this site has been the best thing I’ve found that can pacify my love for broadcasting. It’s that it’s so local, so personal, that I can relate and partake in the discussions. Then, come a couple of days, the host says she’s closing down (for understandable reasons) tomorrow (7/5/09). I mean, come that day, everything on that community just halted, disappeared, gone! I feel stranded and, in fact, annoyed that she couldn’t have gradually shuttered it down. I truly understand her predicament, but seriously, she had so many people attached to this web-based Oregon media society. In fact, often the main topic individual would partake anonymously with the discussions. It was as if it was an underground gossip line – but it was trusted by these people in the business. Anyway… I’m annoyed, hoping someone takes over soon, and am myself trying to figure if there’s anything I can do.
What the…?!
